It was when Kim Il Sung stayed in Kosanjin in the period of the Fatherland Liberation War.
When he visited a unit of the People’s Army, he knew that the soldiers brought cattle which lost their owners during the strategic temporary retreat.
Saying that the cattle were as same as members of peasants’ family, Kim Il Sung told them to take good care of the cattle so as to give them back to the owners.
Sometime later People’s Army units planned to advance to attack the enemy according to the orders of Kim Il Sung. The unit was also to move toward Pyongyang. The cattle were a problem.
Being told about it, Kim Il Sung wrote a letter which asked to give them maximum convenience so that they could transport the cattle urgently and saw that the letter was sent to a senior official who stayed in the station.
Later Kim Il Sung received a receipt with humble signatures and seals of the owners. He said that the peasants who had the cattle would tell it as a legend that the People’s Army soldiers were different from others, indeed. He said that the soldiers had done a really big work and asked to give them his thanks.
