General Kim Jong Il’s Aesthetic Views Comprised in His Question

It happened in autumn day of one year.

General Kim Jong Il asked an official a significant question to him.

His question was which is a nice person among the person who is not faithful in work but consults his own profit while reeking with perfume and the other person who does not reek with perform but work consciously.

The official answered that the person of second category is nice.

Assenting to his answer, the General said that the nice person in our society is the one who works faithfully for the sake of the country and the people.

After a while, the General passionately continued; they may be likened to flowers—the person of the first category is like a rambler and the second is like a cotton flower. A rambler leaves nothing after its blooming, whereas a cotton flower leaves excellent cotton though it is neither fragrant nor splendid. He feels friendlier and loves a cotton flower more as it is the flower which does not expose its appearance although it does a great work.

Aesthetic view of the General who values a plain cotton flower which does not boast of itself although it does a great work for the people, reflects the noble trait of the General who ardently loves the working people.
