There is a play space arranged in a peculiar style in Pyongyang Children’s Department Store.
The play space inside the department store is not big. However, it is associated with the meticulous love of the peerlessly great man, who cares most about the children.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited the department store one day in May 2012. He said that there should be not only counters but a play space for the children in the store.
As if he had read the mind of officials who failed to consider that a department store specialized for selling goods for children needs a play space for them, the Supreme Leader saw that the children would spend time in the play space as they please like playing or reading a book while their parents do shopping in the department store. He taught the officials that playing in the play space will be effective for developing the children’s intellect.
Later the Supreme Leader sent to the department store lots of indoor playing equipment such as children’s car, slide, mushroom-like house, and rocking car of animal shape.
He visited the store again in July that year. Looking at the play space equipped with various kinds of the colourful playing equipment, he expressed satisfaction saying that every child would come and play there and the play space would also be the first place for the adults to visit when they come to the department store with their children.
