    The revolutionary parties founded in reflection of interests of working class and other masses of working people have strived to unite their members on the basis of one ideology out of their character and mission.

    The issue of ensuring monolithic ideology to strengthen vitality and leadership ability of revolutionary party was successfully settled by the distinguished and seasoned ideological and theoretical activities and leadership practice of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

    The Chairman put forward the original idea of imbuing the Party with one ideology and applied it, thus strengthening and developing the Workers’ Party of Korea into an invincible party that achieved its unity and cohesion of ideology and will and possessed of high leadership ability and combat effectiveness.

    Chairman Kim Jong Il said.

    “Our Party’s unity and cohesion has been achieved through a hard struggle to model the whole Party after the Juche idea.”

    Modeling the whole party after its ideology means to ensure that only one ideology, the ideology of the leader is predominant over the party and to build the party into a political organization that achieved unity in ideology, purpose and action of all its members.

    In order to model the whole party after one ideology, it is necessary for one to have an excellent ideology.

    The Chairman further developed the Juche idea authored by President Kim Il Sung as required by the developing era and revolution, thus laying a solid ideological foundation for modeling the whole Party after one ideology.

    Proceeding from the fact that party is a political organization of people and party work is the work with the people, the Chairman systematized man’s essential characteristics and, on its basis, advanced the theory of ideology that people’s ideological consciousness decides everything. The Chairman further developed the Juche idea with such new theories and contents that the leader holds an absolute position and plays a decisive role in carrying out the revolutionary cause of the working class.

    The Chairman saw that the whole Party was modeled after the Juche idea through the process of establishing the monolithic ideological system in the Party.

    He saw that the principle of unitary guidance was implemented in the Party ideological work.

    Party is an organic whole that exists and makes activities with ideology as the lifeblood. Revolutionary party is unable to maintain its existence if it tolerates inroads of other ideas into the party.

    The Chairman saw that the entire Party, from the center down to the lowest levels, was run though with the Juche idea, the ideology of the leader and the Party ideological workers performed their works under the monolithic leadership of the Party Centre. The Chairman saw that all Party organizations and members implement thoroughly the leader’s revolutionary idea and its embodiment, the Party policies.

    The Chairman also saw that regular ideological education system was established to arm the Party members with the scientific and revolutionary Juche idea.

    As it is an ideology that centres on man, the popular masses, the Juche idea has a great attraction. Though one has an excellent idea, an outmoded idea does not give way of its own accord.

    The Chairman saw that various study and education systems were established so as to make the Party members study the leader’s revolutionary ideology, the Juche idea and the Party life, the furnace for ideological tempering was intensified to prevent the Party members from being degenerated ideologically.

    The Chairman also saw that the struggle against heterogeneous ideological trends was intensified within the Party.

    If factionalism and other counter-revolutionary ideological trends are tolerated within a party, factions will be formed and the party will be destroyed.

    The Chairman saw that the principle of democratic centralism was adhered to within the Party so as not to tolerate any shoot of alien ideological elements that are against the Party’s ideology and make the imperialist reactionary idea and culture penetrate into the Party.

    The Chairman also saw that the principle of putting stress on ideology was consistently maintained in building the Party ranks.

    Party is a political organization of people who are united by commonness in ideology. Therefore, party ranks should be strengthened by putting stress on ideology.

    The Chairman saw that the Party ranks were built with those who are faithful to the cause of socialism with the Juche idea, the guiding ideology of the Party as their faith.

    In particular, he saw that the cadres steadily raised their political and ideological standards and working capability and steeled themselves ideologically while building up the ranks of cadres properly.

    Thanks to the Chairman’s energetic and wise leadership, the WPK was strengthened and developed into an ideologically pure and highly organized integral whole that thinks and acts as one.

    The WPK led the people and brought about remarkable events and world-startling victories in a short span of time. Such events and victories are inconceivable apart from the immortal exploits performed by the Chairman who modeled the whole Party after one ideology.

    Brilliance is added to the Chairman’s exploits by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who models the whole Party and society after Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
