One day in May 2000, Chairman Kim Jong Il paid a field guidance to a newly built catfish farm for the lavish diet of the people.
The farm equipped with modern facilities, was producing catfish in an industrial and intensive method.
Looking at the facilities of the farm, the Chairman highly appreciated the qualitative level of its designing and building and said that the catfish farm was built finely suited to the era of the Workers’ Party.
An official boastingly told the Chairman that 15 women produced hundreds of tons of catfish a year.
He looked at the official intimately expressing satisfaction at it.
He was much pleased when he saw catfishes in the fattening ground with half water and half fishes.
The officials shouted for joy.
It was because the Chairman clarified in an intensive way the high productivity of catfish with the words “half water and half fishes”.
Saying that the fattening grounds are cylinder style, which is the secret of putting catfish farming on an intensive basis, Chairman Kim Jong Il underlined that catfish farming should be in brisk by using hot spring water.
