Peerless Politician Respected by Mankind (1)

In June 1983 when Chairman Kim Jong Il who was paying an unofficial visit to China, visited the residence of Deng Ying Chao, wife of late Zhou En Lai, she told him with delight that his visit to her home made her house and garden full of friendship.

Deng Ying Chao received the warm regards of President Kim Il Sung who was concerned about her health through the Chairman and could not repress her emotion.

With tears in her eyes she missed the benevolent image of the President who had received her warmly at the airport though he had been very busy with state affairs when she visited the DPRK four years ago.

She had given thanks again and again to the President who had with comradely obligation held a grand banquet for her and attended the ceremony of unveiling the bronze statue and monument of Zhou En Lai erected in Hungnam Fertilizer Complex in Hamhung.

Chairman Kim Jong Il, identical to President Kim Il Sung, said that Zhou En Lai was a great revolutionary who performed many feats for DPRK-China friendship and that the President kept close relations with the Premier. Deng Ying Chao could not but shed tears.

The interpreters as well as accompanied people were also moved.

When it was time for the Chairman to leave, Deng Ying Chao who came out to the yard took his hands and said earnestly again and again.

“It is a very auspicious occasion to have you here in my house. I wish you to be here often.”

It was the wish not only of Deng Ying Chao but of all the Chinese people.
