    The Korean people carried out the anti-Japanese revolutionary war under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and overthrew the Japanese imperialists’ colonial rule and achieved historic cause of national liberation on August 15, 1945.

    Brilliant victory in the anti-Japanese revolutionary war was the miracle of history worked by President Kim Il Sung possessed of distinguished military wisdom and art of command.

    “Kim Il Sung was an ever-victorious, iron-willed commander and military genius who blazed a trail for our revolution and led it along the road of victory by force of arms.”

    In the period before and after the 1920s when the imperialists’ colonial domination and predatory policy reached an extreme phase, the national liberation struggle in Korea and other colonial countries suffered from failure, turns and twists as there were no correct theory, strategy and tactics on the national liberation revolution in colonies.
    The President took scientific penetration into and wise analysis of the contemporary international situation and the actual condition of the national liberation movement in colonial countries, and on its basis he clarified the original idea, theory and strategy and tactics on the national liberation revolution in colonial countries.

    The national liberation revolution in colonial countries is an independent revolution and the national liberation struggle of the people in colonial and dependent countries emerges victorious without fail when they fight with the arms in their hands, relying on their own revolutionary forces--this is the unique idea, theory and line of the national liberation revolution in colonial countries put forward by the President for the first time.
    The President led the anti-Japanese revolutionary war to victory with remarkable strategy and tactics.

    Defining guerilla warfare as the main form of the national liberation struggle in colonial countries, the President put forward and applied the original military lines and policies including the issue arising in establishing and solidifying guerilla base, issue of actively applying adroit and consummate guerilla tactics in the battle with the enemy and the issue of developing armed struggle in close relations with the mass movement of broad anti-Japanese masses and the international revolutionary forces.

    With ever-victorious stratagem, strong will and faith of turning misfortune into blessings while braving all trials and difficulties and distinguished traits as a brilliant commander defeating any formidable enemy by believing in the people and enlisting their strength, President Kim Il Sung was known abroad in the great anti-Japanese war period.

    Victory in the anti-Japanese revolutionary war was not only the national-historic event that brought national liberation to the Korean people who had been suffered from the severe colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists but also the world-historic event that encouraged the anti-imperialist national liberation struggle of the world oppressed people to a fresh upswing.

    That’s why the leaders in different countries of the world including Zimbabwean president Robert G.
    Mugabe praised highly that the anti-Japanese revolutionary war organized and led by HE President Kim Il Sung served as the model to be applied to practice by the colonial people in the struggle for national liberation.

    President Kim Il Sung is, indeed, the benefactor of national rebirth, the lodestar of human emancipation who put forward the original idea and theory on the national liberation revolution in colonies and led the anti-Japanese revolutionary war to victory by dint of Juche-oriented lines, strategy, tactics and war methods.
