Correlation between Philosophy and Individual Sciences

Philosophy is closely related to individual sciences.

Philosophy develops on the basis of achievements of individual sciences. In order to make a unified understanding of the world, it is necessary to make profound cognition of its individual parts or realms.

Of course, it does not mean that the mechanical combining of knowledge on individual parts or realms of the world is immediately the unified understanding of the world.

However, it is impossible to develop philosophy without achievements of individual sciences. Unified understanding of the world is made on the basis of generalization of individual and concrete knowledge. Philosophy can provide correct world outlook only when it generalizes achievements made by individual sciences as well as the people’s experiences gained in social and historical practice.

Meanwhile, philosophy gives ideological, theoretical and methodological guiding principles to individual sciences.

Individual sciences have their own peculiar object and method of study. However, the world outlook decides not only the basic aim of scientific study on individual fields of the world in setting up one’s object of study but the principle to be adhered to in realizing the object consistently. The world outlook clarifies the viewpoint toward the world as a whole, the most universal principle of methodology toward the world, thus providing a guideline that enables individual sciences to correctly set up their object and orientation of study and realize it properly.
