Man’s Development Is Basis for Social Development

Society is composed of man, social wealth and social relations. Therefore, whose development is a basis for social development is an important philosophical question.

The Juche idea scientifically explains that development of society is started with that of man.

Of course, man is inconceivable apart from social wealth and social relations. However, social wealth and social relations are created by man. In the history of human thought, they broke down the society into productive forces and production relations, foundation and superstructure, and insisted that development of productive forces is a basis for social development. As a matter of fact, means of labour which are a component of productive forces are made by man. Means of labour did not exist before man. They were not made by anyone nor improved by themselves. Same is in the case of social relations.

In conclusion, social wealth increases and social relations improve in accordance with the development of man’s ideological consciousness of independence and creative activity and the enhancement of his role.
