In daily life, the word domination is used in different meanings.

It can express a restriction of independence of one class or nation by another class or nation, like the words class domination and colonial domination. It can also express a leading position in interactions of several factors or phenomena, like the words dominating idea or ruling law.

However, the philosophical concept domination is used to explain the essence of the world in relations with man and the world as a whole. It means controlling and utilizing all objects of the world in keeping with man’s independent interests and demand to make them serve him.

Man does not serve the surrounding world but the latter serves the former, which is the true meaning of dominating the world by man.
