This day which marks the 110^th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung is the day that saw the birth of the greatest person who changed the history of the DPRK people forever and rendered great services to the world people’s struggle for right to self-determination and peace.

President Kim Il Sung devoted his all not only for Korean revolution but for global independence. Comrade Kim Il Sung, possessed of broad magnanimity and obligation of internationalism, gave big assistance to the revolutionary people.

Comrade Kim Il Sung authored, developed and perfected the Juche idea, thus providing a weapon for all the people to carry out their revolutions in consonance with the realities of their countries.

President Kim Il Sung is a master of military affairs.

Having a clear understanding on Korea’s reality in the period when it started the struggle against Japanese barbarous aggression on Korea, President Kim Il Sung embarked on road of the struggle to grope for a new path of revolution without compromising with Right opportunism and theory of obedience. Comrade Kim Il Sung who got principles of the revolution among the popular masses and perceived the truth that it was necessary to fight against the Japanese fascists with arms, founded the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army, a revolutionary armed force.

As the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army was founded with good sons and daughters of the Korean people, it could defeat the strong Japanese imperialists and achieve Korea’s liberation in 1945.

In 1950 when imperialist allied forces ignited an aggressive war against the DPRK, its revolutionary armed forces displayed its might once again. The Fatherland Liberation War showed that Comrade Kim Il Sung’s line of attaching importance to military affairs is a just line suited to its actual conditions.

Victory won in the Fatherland Liberation War in 1953 can be said to be a victory of ideological and spiritual strength of the united DPRK people. Works made public by Comrade Kim Il Sung clarify not only military and theoretical problems but also political, ideological and theoretical problems. In his speeches made before the officers of the People’s Army, workers and peasants during the war years, Comrade Kim Il Sung said that victory in a war hinges on firm solidarity of the entire people. The Workers’ Party of Korea achieved politico-ideological unity among the army men and people and, on its basis, led to victory the struggle against imperialist aggressive forces. Victory in the Korean war, which is said to be a confrontation between rifle and atomic bomb, proved that an army, strong in ideology can defeat any strong enemy who boast of themselves as the strongest although the army is weaker militarily than that of the enemy.

In the 1990s when imperialists’ military threats and stifling continued against the DPRK, the Korean People’s Army stood in van of the struggle to safeguard independence and socialism of the country. Comrade Kim Jong Il who invariably followed the way pioneered by Comrade Kim Il Sung strengthened the People’s Army into an invincible revolutionary armed forces to defend peace and provided a firm guarantee for the building of socialist economy.

Comrade Kim Il Sung’s line of attaching importance to military affairs demonstrates invincible vitality in the DPRK as ever.

The DPRK has been turned into an impregnable military power possessed of powerful war deterrent under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un who inherited the ideas and leadership of Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Today the ideas of Comrade Kim Il Sung lead the DPRK people to greater victory and inspire the world people.

Over a century passed since the sun rose up in Korea on April 15, 1912 but the exploits performed by Comrade Kim Il Sung still strike the world people with admiration.

This international seminar enables us to look up to Comrade Kim Il Sung who is kept forever in minds of the whole world people struggling for free and independent future.

We pay a solemn tribute to Comrade Kim Il Sung.
