President Kim Il Sung, in his whole lifetime, had devoted everything for the development of the world’s socialist movement, for the victory in the cause of anti-imperialist independence and for the global peace and security under the uplifted banner of independence and international justice, performing the greatest exploits that no other great man in the world can ever achieve.

President Kim Il Sung is a world-famous statesman who glorified the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea as a prosperous independent and sovereign state and wisely led the struggle of the progressive people for independence.

Korea, which had once been trampled down by the outside forces and lost its color from the world map, is now demonstrating its might as an independent, self-sufficient and self-defensive socialist country, the people’s country of high dignity. This is the brilliant fruition borne by the Juche idea.

The demand for peace, development and independence becomes undoubtedly a great concern of all nations on the planet, so we can confidently say that today's era is the era of independence.

In the midst of the turbulent international political situations in the 20^th century, President Kim Il Sung led the world revolution with his great contributions to the victorious advance of the cause of human independence by positively aiding the peoples of other countries, particularly of many African countries, in their revolutionary struggle for the liberation and building of new society.

The Juche idea, the guiding ideology of socialist Korea and the cause of global independence, is exerting a great influence on the developing era and the shaping of the destiny of human beings beyond the limits of time and space.

The Juche idea which was authored by President Kim Il Sung is now well recognized as the most influential ideology of the present times as it is based on a scientific elucidation that man is the master of the world and plays the decisive role in changing and developing the world and has shown the way for the masses of the people, the motive force of history, to shape their own destiny by their own efforts.

President Kim Il Sung interpreted the Juche idea in the course of the practical struggle of leading the Korean revolution, not in the course of a sheer academic research for creating an ideological and theoretical system.

The reality of DPRK which has turned into a socialist state of independence, self-reliance and self-defense under his leadership, substantiates the originality, justness, and great vitality of the Juche idea.

Most of the ideologies that emerged in the history of human thoughts lost their vitality and disappeared as the time went by.

However, the Juche idea as an encyclopedic ideology, for its universal truthfulness and completeness, is enjoying increasing support and sympathy from the progressive peoples of the world.

Therefore, this ideological and theoretical wealth can be called the most precious heritage Comrade Kim Il Sung, the eternal President of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea bequeathed to the Korean people and the progressive peoples of the world.

The Juche idea has been studied and disseminated vigorously and continuously even under the collapse of socialism and the complicated world situation, and this proved that the world had acknowledged the scientific accuracy and truthfulness of the Juche idea.

Truthfulness of a progressive ideology is decided by to what extent it is disseminated and how long it maintains its viability.

Not only in the past historic period but now the Juche idea has proved its invincible vitality in the revolutionary practice in many countries, and thus has become the approved truth and universal doctrine.

The Juche idea was further developed by Chairman Kim Jong Il and is now shining more brilliantly as the guiding ideology of our era thanks to General Secretary Kim Jong Un who inherits their intentions.

The Juche idea strikes its root deep in the hearts of the world people as the guideline leading the independent development of all countries and nations, the banner of building an independent new world, a peaceful and fair new society.

Today, Africa is becoming the most unfortunate continent on this planet and getting a blow by civil wars, border disputes, and internal wars among ethnics.

African countries have a lot of natural resources and human capital capable of developing themselves, but western countries exploited their resources by intervening internal affairs and policies, proceeding their interests.

Scientific accuracy and truthfulness of the Juche idea is proved also through the stirring events that the peoples in African countries, who had lived under the imperialist subjugation and oppression, have achieved independence and turned out in the struggle for a new society.

Since foreign forces persist in building up their influence over Africa, it comes to be a more urgent issue to equip Africans with the idea of independence as the Juche idea sheds light on the African continent.

The problem that Africa achieves development out of the crisis is the issue of regaining the sovereignty of country and nation and continental sovereignty in all fields of politics, the economy, military, and culture free from the neo-colonial domination of imperialism.

There is a path for African development in the unity and cooperation of African countries and nations based on the Juche idea.

Like the DPRK the Ethiopian government struggles for independence, self-reliance in the economy and people-centered leadership by flourishing democracy, good governance and diplomacy which safeguard the national interest.

I would have an expectation that the DPRK people will achieve significant success in its struggle for implementing the decision made at the 8^th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea under the wise leadership of H.E.Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK.
