True to the intention of the great President Kim Il Sung, H.E. Kim Jong Il covered a long journey of leading the army day and night till the last period of his life since he started his leadership over the revolutionary armed forces on August 25, 1960.

He developed the Korean People’s Army into an invincible powerful army and built up the military strength, thus providing firm military guarantee for victory of the socialist cause. Thanks to his leadership, the DPRK came to have possessed of powerful nuclear deterrent to cope with the US nuclear threats.
