Aged woman Kim Kyong Hui, who had already enjoyed benefits of the social security services of the country, lived at the Pyongyang Old People’s Home which was newly built thanks to the benevolence of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
During her days at the home, she played the Kayagum every day to reflect her happiness and pleasure in its melody.
One year when overseas compatriots visit the home greeting the international day of the elderly and saw Kim playing the Kayagum, they asked her with surprise when she was taught playing it.
Stretching her back, Kim replied.
“I learned playing the Kayagum when I was young. But I am now living in this palace-like home. I play the Kayagum almost every day because I feel as if I were young.”
