Paeksong Revolutionary Site is in Paeksong-ri, Phyongsong City, South Phyongan Province(then Paekjon-ri, Jasan Sub-county, Sunchon County, South Phyongan Province), where Kim Il Sung University was located during the Fatherland Liberation War. President Kim Il Sung visited the university to illuminate the road ahead of it. In April 1952 when the war was at the height, he stayed at the university for 2 days with the lecturers, staffs and students taking detailed account of their study and life and showing parental love and benevolence. He also made a historic speech to clarify the road ahead of Kim Il Sung University.
The Korean people built the revolutionary historic site on the spot gravely in order to convey through generations the great benevolence and immortal feats of the President who came to the university in mountainous region, gave the confidence in victory to the lecturers, staffs and students and opened up a far-reaching plan of the country, during the grave days of the war.
In the site there are bronze statue of the President, administrative building of the university associated with his immortal revolutionary relics, house where he had talks, farmer’s house, students’ dining hall, dormitory for faculty of Korean language and literature, place where he made speech, resting place, monument of dedicated poem and the Paeksong Revolutionary Museum.
