    There are billions of women in the world. However, no women but the DPRK women are blessed as they enjoy independent dignity and rights to their hearts’ contents and are regarded as a powerful force of social development, under the warm love of the peerlessly great men.

    Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said.

    “Our women constitute a powerful force that pushes ahead one of the two wheels of the revolution.”

    In order to develop society, it is necessary for women that cover the half of the population to play their due roles. The women should be prepared to be a powerful force that pushes ahead one of the two wheels of the society. Only then, society can make proper development.

    As one wheel can not move a cart well, so society can not be developed rapidly only by men.

    If women are regarded as unimportant beings, secondary and subsidiary force or do not hold equal rights as men, society can not be developed properly like a cart which fails to move well only with one wheel.

    Two wheels of a cart are same in size and role. If the role of women who cover half of the population is neglected or underestimated, vacancy will be made in maintaining society and development speed of society will be slowed as much as the vacancy.

    Women are as high as men in demand and aspiration for social development and in ability to undertake it.

    Women have demand and aspiration to live independently and creative ability to harness nature, transform society and remould human beings.

    Of course, women are physically weak than men. However, women are not inferior to men in mental strength, scientific and technological knowledge and technical skills. When women are united firmly into one, they exert an incredible strength.

    Women have good characters peculiar to them. Women are sweet-tempered and soft, and responsible and assiduous. They do everything in a meticulous and careful manner. Such characters make social life successful and they become flowers of life that achieve happiness of family and harmony of society.

    Women do not become a powerful force of the society in all systems.

    Whether or not women can perform their role with due social position is decided by social system.

    In today’s world, women in many countries are driven to mediaeval human trafficking and moral degradation under absence of rights and maltreatment, and they are infected by decadent modes of life committing every sort of crime.

    Women in the corrupt and ailing capitalist society, where love and human body are purchased by money, are reduced to cheap products and modern slaves, whereas the women in the DPRK are leading worthwhile life as flowers of the country and families.

    Today, the DPRK women fully exercise their rights in deliberating the state affairs as deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly and power organs at all levels and they are responsible for important affairs in different sectors including the Party, state economic organs, scientific, public health and cultural institutions. Among them there are women scientists who startled the scientific world with their cutting-edge scientific research achievements and table tennis queen, marathon queen and football stars who added brilliance to the flag of the Republic.

    Some women volunteer to difficult and laborious sectors to spend their youth days for the society and collective and some women become wives of disabled ex-service persons, mothers of children who have no parents and daughters of elders without caretakers.

    Indeed, the social development is inconceivable without role of women who push ahead one of the two wheels of the society.

    The DPRK women movement is now making a heyday of its development under the leadership of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
