The Songun politics is a mode of politics that is established in the process of creating the revolutionary soldier’s spirit and generalizing it over the society.
The revolutionary soldier’s spirit that regards the spirit of devotedly defending the leader, the spirit of thoroughly implementing the Party’s policies and the spirit of heroic self-sacrifice as the main is the revolutionary spirit created in the process of the Korean People’s Army’s heroic struggle.
In the arduous 1990s, the period of Arduous March, the forced march, the Korean revolution demanded, more urgently than before, the people to devotedly defend the leader and carry through his ideology and line unconditionally with strong mental strength and to live and work heroically with death-defying preparedness and will.
It was the People’s Army who accepted immediately this urgent demand directly related with the destiny of Korea and realized it.
The People’s Army displayed fully the spirits of devotedly defending the leader, thoroughly implementing his ideology and line and heroic self-sacrifice to stand in van of braving through difficulties of the country.
It is ascribed to the energetic guidance of leader Kim Jong Il.
He determined to believe in the People’s Army and rely on it in braving through difficulties in the gravest period of the Korean revolution and led it so that it could discharge its mission and duty as a pillar and main agent of the revolution.
Thanks to his wise leadership the People’s Army worked miracles and performed feats in every difficult and arduous part of the socialist construction as well as in every post of defending the country in the period of the Arduous March, the forced march, thus fulfilling its duty and mission.
In the period the People’s Army displayed fully the spirits of devotedly defending the leader, thoroughly implementing his ideology and line and heroic self-sacrifice.
Leader Kim Jong Il saw to it that the precious fighting spirit displayed by the People’s Army was named the revolutionary soldier’s spirit and learned after by all members of the society.
In the process of generalizing the revolutionary soldier’s spirit of the People’s Army over the society, the DPRK’s political and ideological position and military position were consolidated further and basis laid for a thriving country.
