Pagyon Falls in Pagyon-ri in the northern part of Kaesong City is the one on which President Kim Il Sung left his immortal trace in August 1957 and May 1992, and leader Kim Jong Il in July 1974.

Pagyon Falls is one of the beautiful 3 famous falls in Korea.

Crystal-clear water streaming down to a steep valley between Mt. Songgo and Mt. Chonma on the Ahobi range are collected in Pagyon(pond) striking a standing rock and falls down to a rock wall.

It falls faster than other falls and its sound is also louder.

It raises a thick mist embellishing its beautiful sceneries.

On the falls, there is a curious pond Pagyon that is 24 meters round, 8 meters in diameter and 5 meters in depth. A broad and even rock was hollowed in the shape of a gourd forming the pond. There is a rock at the center of the pond, which is as big as the one on which several persons can sit.

At the bottom of the falls, there is a lake called Komodam that is 120 meters round and about 40 meters in diameter. On the bank of the lake there are a round rock called Rock Ryong whose upper part is above water as its other parts are under water and a pavilion called Pomsajong on the western hill of the lake.

Water coming from the lake flows down to Stream Ojo meandering the rock on which the pavilion stands.

This grand falls is more superb as it is surrounded by a steep cliff in the south and a folding screen-like rocky cliff.

In spring, azalea, royal azalea, berry, apricot, wild pear flowers are in full bloom, in summer, magnolia in green foliage emits fragrance and in autumn, the mountains and streams are tinged with red beautifying the sceneries further.

At the entrance of Pagyon Falls there is a monument to the dedicated poem which was erected to convey to posterity the immortal revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung.
