The Songdowon International Schoolchildren’s Camp, which is permeated with warm love of the Workers’ Party of Korea that spares nothing for the children, is a wonderful architecture, the monumental edifice of the era that accords with the features of a civilized socialist nation and in which the Juche-oriented architectural and aesthetic idea is embodied thoroughly.
From olden times Songdowon in Kangwon Province has been famous for sand beach stretched along the coast of the clear and blue East Sea of Korea and thick forest of pine trees. Wonderfully reconstructed suiting to such beautiful natural sceneries of Songdowon, the Songdowon International Schoolchildren’s Camp reminds visitors of a famous painting.
There are statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in the campus of the camp.
The statues show the Sun-like smiling images of the President and the Chairman: the President sits, smiling at the Korean and foreign students and children with parental love and the Chairman embraces the children at a park of the camp built on the sweet brier-blossomed seashore and embrace.

Entering the entrance, they feel as if they entered a luxurious palace of pearl. Entering the rooms, they feel as if they were in a flower garden. All of these reflect sentiment and liking of the students and children who are inquisitive, full of hope and brave.
The camp has the international friendship school children’s hall. It is modernly equipped with the projecting facilities for films and videos and the sound facilities for the campers to display their artistic talents to the full.
With various kinds of precious fishes swimming on top and on both sides of it, the aquarium makes the campers fall in fantasy as if they were under the sea. Not only the aquarium but the aviary and stuffed animal exhibition room give much knowledge and general knowledge to the campers.
The camp also has indoor gym and swimming pool, outdoor wading pool, open-air playground and archery field, cooking practice room and the room for disseminating knowledge for mountaineering, in which the campers conduct physical training and foster self-reliance, creativeness and spirit of collectivism to prepare themselves to be able workers for the future.

Songdowon Railway Station has been newly built in a modern manner, so that the students and children across the country can travel to the camp without any inconveniences.
Not only Korean students and children but those from several countries including Asia, Europe and Africa come to the camp. They spend happy days with variety of extracurricular activities such as maritime physical culture, mountaineering, amusement games and the day of nations deepening the friendly sentiments.
The days in the camp giving pleasure and happiness to the campers and realizing their beautiful dreams and ideals will be kept as a life-long memory of the campers.
The Songdowon International Schoolchildren’s Camp is the only palace in the world for the children which is permeated with warm affection of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who continues the lofty love for the posterities and the future shown by the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who considered the work for the rising generation as the most important affair of the Party and the state and devoted their all for them.
