Independent national economy in the DPRK basically supplies the material demand of the Korean people. Hence the economy in Korea has many-sided and comprehensive sectional structure that can meet the domestic demand, and the production circulation from the tapping of raw materials to the production of finished goods is completed on a domestic scale. In Korea, relationships between production and sale, supply and consumption are made in keeping with the domestic demand. Therefore, the independent national economy in Korea makes stable development on a solid foundation without being embroiled in the world economic upheavals or crisis.
On the contrary, the economy in other countries that supplies the external demand, the export-led economy has a lopsided economic structure for meeting the demand of other country and its reproduction undergoes consistent influence according to the fluctuations in external market. This is the cause of instability of the economic development and the economic crisis.
Next, the vitality of the independent national economy is that it develops relying on its own raw materials, fund and technology.
It is imperative for a country and nation to depend on one’s own raw materials, fund and technology in order to build solid and viable economy.

Next, the vitality of the independent national economy is that it develops relying on the economic management system and method of its own style.
The socialist economy is managed and operated by certain economic management system and method. This is of weighty significance in giving full play to the vitality of the socialist economic system. The solid foundation of the independent national economy laid in the DPRK is giving fullest play to its vitality in the building of a socialist thriving nation.
