    The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea legally provides all citizens with freedom of assembly and association.

    All citizens are fully provided with the freedom of assembly and demonstration.

    Freedom of assembly and demonstration is the right enabling them to hold meeting for attaining a certain goal, perform a collective act for expressing their claims or display their might in a free manner. It is included by national and international assembly, street march, demonstration, religious meeting, conference, etc.

    The DPRK allows only the peaceful assembly or demonstration. It does not permit the assemblies and demonstrations that infringe upon security of the state, corrupt social stability, public orders and soundness and morality of the society or violate the rights and freedom of other people. Article 21 of the International Agreement on Citizen, Political Right also stipulates it.

    All citizens are fully provided with the freedom of association.

    Freedom of association is the right to establish different organizations for achieving a certain purpose or join them. Such organizations are included by political parties, socio-economic and cultural organizations and human rights organizations. Institutions of the state, groups, court of justice and the like are not included in them.

    The DPRK provides all citizens with the conditions for free organizing of democratic political parties and public organizations and their free activities in accordance with the Socialist Constitution

    There are different political parties and social organizations in the DPRK including the Workers’ Party of Korea, the Korean Social Democratic Party, Chondoist Chongu Party, General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, Socialist Women’s Union of Korea, Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League, Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, which are active at present.

    Association whose purpose is the hostile act against the state is strictly prohibited.
