Right not to Be Slave Secured in DPRK

    The DPRK regards independence as life and soul of man and never allows acts of slavery that deprives man of independence.

    Man has the right not to be a slave and it is a sacred right that cannot be deprived of in any case.

    A slave is a state of man who has no rights and whose independence is ruthlessly trampled down. Act of slavery is an extreme expression of strength exercised by man against man and the most direct practices of hostility toward man’s personality and dignity.

    Act of slavery is included by slave trade, prostitution, flesh traffic, forced and juvenile labour, etc.

    There are no slave trade, prostitution, flesh traffic and forced labour in the DPRK and, in case of having performed such acts, the criminals are punished severely by law.

    Juvenile labour is strictly prohibited by he Article 15 of the Socialist Labour Law and Article 19 of the Law on Securing Juvenile Rights, and the organ and enterprise, organization and individual citizen cannot force a child under the working age to engage in labour. In case of forcing a minor to work, he or she must shoulder penal responsibility.

    Since liberation of the country, the DPRK has educated all the people to shape their own destiny independently as masters with high consciousness of independence. As a result, all citizens in the Republic rejecting thoroughly the servile yielding spirit and flunkeyism and resolutely defend their own dignity and independence.
