Perfecting the system of irrigating over 200 000 hectares of paddy and non-paddy fields, cleaning out medium and small streams, desalinizing the Lake Kangryong and perpetuating tide-water control dikes, which were planned in 2023 according to the decision of the Seventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, were mainly concluded, thus bringing about a progress in realizing irrigation of the rural economy.
In particular, irrigation system has been renovated for the fields covering more than 60 000 hectares with the drought-stricken areas as the main, thus providing a solid guarantee capable of overcoming caprices of nature and having safe yield.
