There is Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, a palace for women in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK.
The Pyongyang Maternity Hospital is a general hospital that renders various kinds of specialized medical services including delivery and women’s diseases.
Women in the DPRK are provided with free medical service, at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital equipped fully with modern medical equipment and treatment conditions from when they check in the hospital to when they check it out.
The hospital has various forms of over 2 000 large and small rooms, fully equipped with modern medical equipment and apparatuses capable of ensuring scientific accuracy of medical services and quickness and correctness of treatment. It also has a well-arranged admission and treatment service system.
More than 400 women receive outpatient’s treatment free of charge every day at the hospital, and 15 000 odd pregnant women deliver every year.
After their delivery, all women are provided with wild honey and nutritious meals including meat and egg during their hospitalization. No one can leave the hospital if anything wrong occurs to their health and newborn babies.
The Pyongyang Maternity Hospital was built magnificently on March 30, 1980 under the benevolent love and care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il. Since its opening, the hospital receives from the state free of charge the tonics and nutritious foodstuff including wild honey, bear’s gall and deer’s placenta paste of Mt Paektu.
It is unimaginable for women in other countries, who have to calculate delivery and admission charges every day at hospital and worry about bringing up twins when they give birth to them.
The Korean women in the DPRK who gave birth to their babies under the benefits of socialism are now creating miracles and innovations to add lustre to their socialist country.
