Koryo medicine is the traditional medicine created and inherited by our forefathers in the long process of improving and treating the disease.
The DPRK sets it as an important policy to develop Koryo medicine, the national traditional medicine in combination with the modern medicine and pays deep attention to it, scoring many successes.
Recently in the field of Koryo medicine in the DPRK, they develop large amount of effective Koryo medication, serving the improvement of the people’s health.
In the Academy of Koryo Medical Science, they newly developed effective anti-cancer Koryo medication such as “Taxan anti-cancer injection” and “Secretio Bufonis-Sophora anti-cancer injection.”
They also developed “Crataegus-Ginkgo effervescent tablet”that is effective for the prevention of getting old and the treatment of arteriosclerosis and “Ansan syrup” that is effective, rapid and convenient treatment medication for the patients with sharply painful diseases.
With the result of the intensive study of the treatment of incurable fatness disease in the way of Koryo medicine, they developed “Scutellaria tablet for obesity”, the fat patients reduced their weight. In addition, they developed “Medicinal malt granule for pancretitis” that is effective for the treatment of pancretitis, “Angelica tablet for Arteriosclerosis” that is effective for the treatment of arteriosclerosis and cerebral blood vessel disease and “Tansam gingko injection” and “Tujung high blood pressure granule”, the effective medication.

In the Academy of Medical Science, they made deep study of making software that finds out the cause of getting old and the weak part of the body and prescripts them and thus succeeded in developing “Koryo Uisul”, the Koryo medical service support system consisting of Koryo doctor support system and self-decision of health system, etc.
They also studied the inter-relations between auriculo-hemoglobin and the functions of internal organs and developed the software of internal-organ-function-warning-and-diagnosis system by combining the theory of skin reflection and the principle of 3 original colours that tell the disease in the internal organ is reflected in skin.
In the Academy of Medical Science, they discovered the Koryo medical method of treating incurable disk slip and cervical vertebra diseases in a short period. The electric acupuncture, hand-pressure therapy and the treatment of disk slip by the method of remedy of serious disease were introduced in all hospitals across the country. They also treat cervical vertebra disease in the way of combining electric acupuncture, hand-pressure and far infrared ray exposure.
In this Academy, they treat the diseases of cardiac blood vessel system, digestive system, gynecology, ENT and others.
The hospital staff of Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University produced moxibustion treatment tool through far infrared ray.
