At present loss of land becomes more serious in the world due to severe aftereffects of abnormal climate phenomena. However, campaign of expanding lands is in brisk in the DPRK.
In recent years successes have been made in the DPRK in reclaiming tidelands by damming off the West Sea to use as cultivated land.
The 2nd stage project of Kwaksan Tideland in North Phyongan Province and the 1st stage project of Honggondo Tideland were finished in a short span of time to obtain over 5 000 hectares of new land. A thousand and several hundreds of hectares of land were obtained by completing the Ryongmaedo Tideland zone 6. Ansok Tideland was finely reclaimed, too.
The projects of the 2nd stage of reclaiming Honggondo Tideland and the Woldo Tideland zone 2 are in brisk.
Land, the everlasting wealth of the country, will be expanded continuously in the future, too, thanks to the wise leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the ardent loyalty and patriotism of tideland builders.
