Development of science and technology is at present the most important matter in the building of a thriving socialist nation.
In the past the DPRK waged a brisk drive for going beyond the cutting edge to step up modernization and introduction of information technology of the national economy. Science and technology play the most important role in the whole social life as well as in economy. The present reality, in which the whole of her national economy is firmly raised on a new scientific basis and production and management are based on the latest science and technology more and more, urgently requires giving definite precedence to the development of science and technology.
