On November 15, 1987 Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a polling station of the constituency No.121 for the election of deputies to the Phyongsong City People’s Assembly to cast a vote for a deputy.

That day Kim Jong Il met the section chief of the Institute of Heat Engineering of the (then) Academy of Sciences who was a candidate for deputy to the assembly and told him to fulfil his responsibility and duty of a people’s servant as he was an official of the people’s power organ.

When there was the election of the deputies to the 8^th Supreme People’s Assembly, he visited a polling station and cast a vote for the chairwoman of the management board of the (then) Wonhwa Cooperative Farm, Phyongwon County, South Phyongan Province who was a candidate for deputy. Then Kim Jong Il told her and officials of the county to make the people’s government rock-solid by doing farming better.

Later Kim Jong Il summoned candidates for deputies and encouraged them to be aware of responsibility and duty of officials of the power organs and become the people’s servants to make the country more prosperous and powerful.
