President Kim Il Sung chose a site of the (then) Pyongyang Textile Mill on October 10, 1948, the day which marked the 3rd founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Arriving at a wide ground full of weeds, Kim Il Sung looked at the surroundings carefully.
Told by an official that the ground would be a site of the mill, Kim Il Sung personally walked in the van toward a rough and untrodden path covered with grass.
The farther he went, the rougher the path became because of the rain, but Kim Il Sung looked round every corner of the wide ground regardless of muddy path.
Examining the wide ground for a long time, Kim Il Sung was very satisfied and said that it was necessary to build a big factory on their own to provide the DPRK people with good clothes.
