President Kim Il Sung delivered a historic speech On Building the Party, State And Armed Forces in the Liberated Homeland to the military and political cadres on August 20, 1945. In the speech Kim Il Sung said that the Korean people were faced with a fresh struggle with the accomplishment of the historic cause of national liberation. Kim Il Sung continued that, on the basis of their triumphant success, the Korean people should continue to advance the Korean revolution and build a rich, powerful, independent and sovereign state through their own efforts.
The line for nation-building put forward by Kim Il Sung clearly reflected the unshakable independent stand that the building of a new country should be carried out in its own way in conformity with the actual conditions of the country, not by others’ but by their own efforts, just as the historic cause of national liberation was accomplished by the Korean people.
