It was ahead May Day in the following year of national liberation.
On his field guidance to North Hamgyong Province, President Kim Il Sung examined the plan of the May Day celebrations worked out by officials concerned. According to the plan, a civil parade would be held on the occasion of May Day and officials in North Hamgyong Province and Chongjin were to march horseback in the van of columns of paraders.
That evening Kim Il Sung earnestly told an official that workers and peasants were the most precious ones and the pillars of the liberated country, and therefore they should be in the van of the May Day parade, adding that this is the Party’s steadfast stand and viewpoint towards the masses.
Thanks to Kim Il Sung who regarded the popular masses as the masters of everything, the workers and peasants enjoyed the first May Day after liberation with passionate joy and excitement.
