The Supreme Leader who took deep account of importance of agricultural science gave field guidance to agricultural science and research units to lay reliable foundations for scientific farming.
Paying deep attention also to implementing comprehensive mechanization of the rural economy, the Supreme Leader put forward tasks for it at the historical 7th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea. He called at an exhibition hall of machines and equipment right after the congress in May 2016 and saw various kinds of farming machines such as a new type of 80hp-tractor and gave instructions to modernize the equipment and production lines of farming machine factories so that effective farming machines and accessories could be mass-produced.
The Supreme Leader’s tireless efforts resulted in surprising reality that Chairman Kim Jong Il’s hometown had a bumper harvest in potato farming, that greenhouses were built at the Kyongsong area, the northern part of the DPRK and that the hot wind of scientific farming and high-yield movement was raised over the country.
