One day in the early 1990s, President Kim Il Sung received a leader from an African country who visited the DPRK and gave precious instructions to him.

Until the end of the 1980s, Africa was known as the continent which advanced along the road of independence expediting the building of a new society free from the fetters of colonial slavery. However, entering in the early 1990s, Africa was drawn into social disorder, economic devastation and tribal confrontations and conflicts.

Presidents were excluded and ruling parties fell into out-parties in some countries. Economy was destroyed and people’s livelihood was extremely deteriorated by tribal confrontations and conflicts.

It was the result that they had introduced without any grasp the multi-party system forced by imperialists.

Liberalization in ideology, multi-party system in politics and diversification of ownership are mode of politics peculiar to capitalist society which the imperialists are advocating.

The imperialists forced African countries, which cast off the fetters of colonial slavery and were advancing along the road of independent development, to accept the multi-party system with “aid” as bait in order to disintegrate them from within.

Many African countries, choked with “aid”, could not but accept the multi-party system disguised as “democracy”. These countries had to pay dear for it.

Analyzing the situation, the President highly appreciated that he held fast to the principle of one-party system without yielding before preserving pressure of imperialists.

Feeling awful, he said frankly to the President that he opposed the multi-party system because it would make troubles in some way if it was accepted in his country where several tribes live together.

Admitting his words, the President said that the imperialists persuade the progressive countries to accept the multi-party system with the aim to cause troubles among them and keep colonial domination and subordination in those countries, and that collapse of the Eastern European countries is the aftermath of the multi-party system.

He explained in detail the reason why African countries should not accept the multi-party system.

He said that, as there are many tribes in African countries, the tribes will organize their parties in a country if the country accepts the system, and it will result in disputes among them.

He continued that it is a taboo to have illusion about the system. He said that the countries which had hard time due to the multi-party system would turn their back against it. He also said it would be too late when the countries began to go through ordeals, which is the time when they had already been under the imperialist control.

The leader of the African country admired the scientific penetration and keen analysis of the President who had an insight into acute and complicated international political matters and revealed the machinations of the imperialists and betrayers of socialism.

Deeply impressed, he stated his determination to keep out the imperialists’ multi-party system.

Indeed, the efforts President Kim Il Sung made to create a new life in developing countries and realize global independence are recorded in the annals of history.
