“In order to correctly carry out the revolutionary struggle, one must actively inquire into new principles and methods of the revolution and construction which are suitable to the historical conditions of the time and one’s concrete situation.”
The idea and theory of revolution is established on the basis of generalizing the requirements of the time and the experience of revolutionary practice in the course of developing revolutionary struggle of the popular masses and serves as the ideological and theoretical weapon, the guiding principle of their struggle for independence. Circumstances and conditions of revolutionary struggle are not immutable, and history advances and realities change and develop continuously. Change of the time and the developing reality raise numerous new problems that cannot be solved with the existing theories. Revolutionary struggle can be carried out in line with the requirements of the time and one’s own actual circumstances only when one inquire into new theories and methods of the revolution which are suitable to new socio-historical conditions and concrete situation.
Revolutionary party must pay deep attention to inquiring into and developing the idea and theory of revolution in accordance with the change of the time and the advance of the revolution and construction. If it fails to be done properly and thus brings about opportunist degeneration and dogmatic stagnation of revolutionary idea, the revolution cannot have correct guiding principle and escape from setback and failure.
Twists and turns in the socialist construction and collapse of socialism in some countries in the past are the result of poverty and degeneration of scientific and revolutionary ideology and theory.
