Today many people in the world know well the Songun idea and the Songun politics founded and being applied in the socialist Korea.
Literally, the term Songun whose meaning is to give precedence to the military has already become the world official language and its meaning of an era is being underlined.
However, there are some people who do not have correct understanding on Songun.
A Russian newspaper critic, who visited the DPRK in the meaningful period of early May 2016 when the 7th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea was being held in Pyongyang, put the following question at the talk with a scholar from the Korean Association of Social Scientists.
“The Party congress is being held in the DPRK after over 30 years. Does this mean that the DPRK is changing its politics from the army-first to the Party-first? In other word, which is the first, the army or the Party?”
This question was whether the DPRK is going to change into the Party-first politics from the army-first politics that it has pursued before.
The question might be put among the people who are not well aware of Songun and the Songun politics. Furthermore, this was the question that can be naturally raised among the people who are deceived by the western propaganda desperately slandering the DPRK with her as a thorn in flesh, and among the people who have wrong view on the Songun.
The scholar kindly removed his misunderstanding. The scholar said as follows.
“The Songun politics is the politics that is being pursued by the WPK. Therefore, it is wrong to put such question of which is the first, the army or the Party.
The WPK’s Songun politics is the most powerful treasured sword capable of defeating any formidable enemy and ensures the victory in the cause of socialist reliably.
The WPK comprehensively has enforced the Songun politics by inheriting the cause of President Kim Il Sung under the wise leadership of leader Kim Jong Il and thus developed the DPRK into the world socialist politico-ideological giant and the military giant during the last scores of years under the banner of Songun. The WPK is now actively accelerating the building of an economic giant and a civilized nation.
