What does it mean by living today for tomorrow’s sake?

    Leader Kim Jong Il said that “Let’s live today for tomorrow, not for today” is his outlook on life. This means that though a man does not enjoy himself, he lives with the determination to devote for the future of the country and welfare of all generations to come.

    At present, many people in the world seek to make money, hold higher powers or to find the happiness of life in enjoying luxury material life and pleasure. Such people turn aside the interests of other people and the destinies of the collective and pursue only the pleasure of the individuals. Those people have today only, not tomorrow. That is because the life for the individual ends when individual’s life ends, so the life of no future will be meaningless.

    Struggling to create future is the worth and significance in the life of human who is born and leads his life among the collective. The exploits contributed to the future of the collective and to the mighty of the collective in the course of man’s living will be immortal along with the collective.

    The life devoted to the eternal prosperity and future of the society and the collective is indeed the life which contributes to the society and the collective most truly although they do not enjoy today, and society and the collective never forget those people. Therefore, the people who live today for tomorrow enjoy precious and eternal lives which can not be imagined by those who live only for themselves and only for today.

    In order to live today for tomorrow, it is important to have strong spirits of loving the posterity, future of the revolution.

    Only those who love the future of the revolution and posterity can devote their life for the ultimate victory of the revolutionary cause and the prosperity of all generations in the revolution and construction, overcoming any difficulties and trials convincing tomorrow.

    It is also necessary to consider trials of today as happiness and create many things for the eternal prosperity of the fatherland.

    Only those people will be able to hand down to the posterity better and bigger creations, leaving traces of life.
